When to Convert PDF to JPG or PNG (And When You Shouldn't)

Understand when JPG, PNG, or WebP exports are better than sending a full PDF.

4 min read

Use image exports when viewers only need a visual snapshot and not selectable text. This is common for slide previews, social posts, and design review loops.

Choose PNG for sharp diagrams, JPG for lighter files, and WebP when you need modern compression with good clarity.

If only certain pages are needed, convert selected ranges instead of exporting the full document.
