PDF privacy basics every user should know
A privacy claim is useful only when it explains what happens at each stage. Selecting a file, processing it in browser memory, downloading a result, storing it on a device, and sending it to another person are separate events with different responsibilities.
What in-browser processing means
In the current free service, the nine available workspaces process selected PDFs and images inside browser memory. Those document files are not sent to a PDFmint processing route. Opening the home page or searching the tool library does not select a document.
The website host still receives ordinary connection information needed to deliver the site, as explained in the Privacy Policy. That is different from sending the selected document for processing.
Temporary does not mean indestructible everywhere
Active sources, previews, and results can disappear when the workspace is refreshed, closed, or reclaimed by a mobile browser. Download an important result before leaving the page.
After download, the copy is controlled by your browser, operating system, device storage, backup settings, and any folder provider you use. PDFmint cannot remove copies from those places for you.
Inspect before processing and before sharing
Work from a trusted device and close unrelated documents or screen-sharing sessions. Confirm that the source belongs to you or that you are authorized to process it.
Review the result for hidden mistakes that are visible in ordinary reading: extra pages, signatures, personal identifiers, comments rendered on pages, or images containing surrounding private information. A successful tool operation is not a legal or confidentiality review.
Safer routine
- Keep an untouched source in a controlled location.
- Use only the workspace required for the immediate outcome.
- Download and open the result outside the workspace.
- Share only after checking content, recipient, filename, and channel.
Do not diagnose by emailing the document
A support email is handled by the sender's and recipient's email providers. Do not attach a PDF, image, signature, password, identity document, financial record, or confidential business file to a support request.
Describe the tool, language, browser, expected behavior, and visible error without the document. Crop or redact a screenshot before attaching it. PDFmint offers no instruction to bypass document passwords or another person's rights.
Privacy checklist
- No document or password is included in a support message.
- The downloaded result contains only intended pages and marks.
- The recipient and sharing channel are correct.
- Temporary local copies are retained or deleted according to your needs.
