How to prepare a contract packet from several PDFs

A contract packet usually contains more than one document: a cover, main agreement, exhibits, IDs, approvals, or signature pages. The safest workflow is to prepare each source, combine the packet in a planned order, add only the visible marks that are needed, and review the downloaded result before it leaves your device.

Map the packet before opening a tool

List the parts in the order the recipient should read them. A simple sequence might be cover letter, agreement, schedule, invoice, ID copy, and approval note. Keep an untouched copy of every source so you can rebuild the packet if something changes.

Do not hide uncertainty inside the final PDF. If a source is missing, unsigned, or from the wrong version, resolve that before combining the packet. Merging is easier after the content decision is clear.

Packet steps

  1. Name every source according to its role.
  2. Confirm the intended reading order.
  3. Check whether any source needs page removal or rotation first.
  4. Keep the original files separate from the final packet.

Combine the parts in Merge PDF

Use Merge PDF when each source should stay together as a block. Add the sources, arrange the cards in the packet order, and compare the total page count with your notes before creating the result.

If pages inside a source need to move, use Organize PDF on that source first. Download the corrected source and add that corrected copy to the packet rather than trying to remember the change later.

Contract packet checks

  • Every source card belongs in the packet.
  • No earlier draft is included by accident.
  • The total page count matches the planned packet.
  • Attachments appear after the main document, not before it.

Add visible marks only when they clarify the packet

A visible signature, stamp, watermark, or page number can help a packet, but each mark should have a purpose. Avoid covering clauses, dates, names, barcodes, or official stamps from the source document.

PDFmint's visible signing and stamping tools create electronic marks on the pages you choose. They are not certificate-based identity verification or legal advice. Use them only where a visible mark is appropriate for the packet.

Review the final packet as one document

Open the downloaded packet outside the workspace. Check the cover, the start of the main agreement, every exhibit boundary, every marked page, and the last page. The final file should tell one coherent story from first page to last.

Before sending, confirm the recipient, subject, channel, and filename. Do not email passwords or sensitive diagnosis details to support. If the packet contains confidential information, send it only through a channel approved for that relationship.

Contract packet checks

  • The packet begins with the intended first document.
  • Each exhibit or attachment starts where expected.
  • Visible marks are on the intended pages only.
  • The final filename is clear and not a temporary download name.
