How to share a PDF without exposing private information
A PDF can reveal more than the page someone asked for: extra pages, internal notes, signatures, filenames, visible IDs, or old versions can travel with the attachment. A short privacy review before sharing helps you send only the intended copy.

Decide what the recipient needs
Before sharing, write down the purpose of the PDF. A school form, invoice section, signed page, or selected report excerpt may not require the complete original document.
Avoid removing context that the recipient needs to understand the file. A signature page may require the agreement page, and a table may require its title or note. The goal is not to hide necessary information; it is to avoid sharing unrelated private information.
Safer sharing steps
- Identify the exact pages needed for the recipient.
- Keep required context pages with the selected material.
- Keep the original source available until the shared copy is reviewed.
Create a focused copy
Use Delete PDF Pages when the shared copy should keep most of the document but remove a few unrelated pages. Use Extract PDF Pages when the recipient needs a smaller selected section from a larger source.
Do not rely on a preview thumbnail alone. Check the page number and surrounding pages before deleting or extracting, especially when pages look visually similar.
Safer sharing steps
- Choose Delete PDF Pages or Extract PDF Pages.
- Select only pages that should remain in the shared copy.
- Download the result before leaving the workspace.
- Name the shared copy clearly so it is not confused with the source.
Review what is visible
Open the downloaded result and inspect all visible content: headers, footers, page numbers, stamps, signatures, names, addresses, account numbers, QR codes, and notes. PDF pages can contain important details outside the main body text.
